I Can Feel the Mold in Me (Dead Slow, No Wake)

One era had ended and another had truly begun.

The sound got damp and a new sound was growing upon it soft and fuzzy. The sound was old and we ate the mold before we saw it. We could feel the mold in us. It made us ill but the fevered dreams we saw in that illness became this, our most truly psychedelic recording...

We got very very close to the sound...

We moved very far away from the sound...

Forms were bending sound was breaking like waves or glass...

We tried to capture songs but they scurried away... Whole instruments wandered off and never returned... Doors were left open... How many hands... Up the river in the dreamboat with a total stranger... The trees looked wrong the birds sang different songs... We have never slept...

JUNE 2010

M____ played at home, recording his basement statement. C ____ wandered through the hot sun in the big city, tape rolling. G20 riots mingling with Soccer horns. Veins of mold like growing gold. Excerpts of C___'s tape music from as much as 10 years prior were merged with brand new lurching explorations of live rhythm section and found-tape fragments. Extreme cut-ups but with a beating, moldy heart.

This mold swings hard.

All humanity struggling then and now and forever.
