Drums by Louis Percival on this date. Organ, bass and drums were recorded live on the 4-track in a single large room which led to less than ideal fidelity. We had only recorded as a duo prior to this session. Louis P. plays drums for us live and has been our ally and friend from the very beginning. We wanted to try to get him into the recordings.This song is essentially a "jam" played with no prior discussion, rooted around M___'s bass. Colin Fisher overdubbed some saxes for us, doubling and harmonizing some guitar M___ had added as an overdub onto an edited song-form cut from the improvisation. The final version was sped up about 11%. The 'charming' fidelity and general wonkiness of the tune are an example of a Classic AUTOMAAT style - one-off spontaneous recordings iced up with more considered but slightly ill-fitting overdubs. This tune was played live once in 2012 but was too jammy and we abandoned it even though people found the tune "likeable". Farfisa FAST5 organ, bass and highschool drumkit, one SM58 (all the drums on our first 11 albums were recorded with a single SM58 into a Tascam cassette 4-track).

I love all of BBNG's albums. (even the rougher BBNG2). I find that Talk Memory has a high musical level throughout but maybe it lacks standout moments like the other albums all had. Still, I listen to it all the time, it's a must have together with all the other BBNG albums. bonhomme7heures

Magic in its purest form. I love Floating Points, I love Pharoah Sanders, I love The London Symphony Orchestra. It's a match made in heaven, and the result is absolutely gorgeous. I have loved this record since its release, and realized I don't own it for some reason. So its time to change that. 9.5/10 honestly could become a 10/10 on an indepth vinyl relisten. angrypizza98
